They are shorter and lighter but the suitcase may be a stretch

Still iron blocked though? Its hard to see much of a gain for the work its going to take?

Chain driven and iron block, yes.

The gains are synergistic, a little here and there add up to being worthwhile. I'd argue that aside from packaging, displacement, vvt, head design, and higher revving valve-train (roller followers) are benefits for both track and street cars.

Indeed. It is still an engine swap in the end of the day. Lots of work and sweat, but the reward is a 2.5L with a legit 1000hp head in stock form with stock cams, and much more when cams finally drop. This head was developed for the v10, not the v10 from the 5 cylinder. Youtube some Gallardo vids. A customer of mine told me that there was a 1850whp Gallardo at Miller Motorsports Park in Utah yesterday trapping 185 down the main strait!

Packaging is much like the 5 cylinder. We have mostly everything in CAD or in production right now to make it a plug and play swap, not much different from swapping a 3b into a 10v car. After the cool head factor, the next biggest advantage is the packaging.

Nothing is in front of that front pulley, and the majority of the accessories are driven off a jack shaft that puts them level with the front of the head. This engine is shorter than an ABZ 4.2L v8!!

With bore spacing the same, all my Iroz Motorsport manifolds will fit reflanged or slightly modified for hte most part.

01e does need slight modification, flywheel/clutch is custom, though we have made the clutch to accept b5 s4 clutch kits. Mounts are custom as well.

                hope that helps.

Several have topped 400whp in stock trim with stock rods and pistons. We are running VEMS standalone using all the factory sensors. EFIExpress will have a plug and play option in the 1300$ range that will provide a base tune for the popular turbos like the 3071r, 3076r and 3582r.

So what will one of these engines do with stock internals and whats needed to bolt one to a 5/6 speed audi box?
