The wife reversed into the neighbours car today and caused damage.to both cars. Will my neighbour have.to pay her excess even if it was my wife's fault?or is it our policy that pays for the.neighbours excess

Any help would be great. Never had to claim before.

if you accept responsibility your insurance Will offer to look after neighbours car too. quite simply if third party insurance settle claim they add loads on so the settlement figure Will be greater for your insurance. all you need to do is put your insurance in touch with neighbour. she legally needs to notify insurance but say your insurance company dealing. i used to work in insurance and the bills from 3rd party insurers for hire cars and loss of earnings etc was ridiculous. we always tried to look after other party in fault claim as we could monitor and limit the spending. sometimes a lot hassle for 3rd party too.
