What diesel to buy?

My mother in law is looking to buy i new/new ish diesel.

Shes been looking for ages but car prices here in france are shockingly high so its always put her off.

But now it seams shes also open to buying a used car as long as its low milage and has full service history.

Can someone recommend something preferably german?

As far as i know the car just needs to have low milage, FSH and good economy as she does a lot of milage...

What dan you guys recommend?
Bugget is around €15,000 to €20,000

I'm French and I always go to Germany to buy my cars (my RS2 is the first car I bought in France since 1995).
Cars are not clean in France (lot of scratches on the outside and bumpers) usually the german models after some years are not serviced at the dealers but at Norauto, Midas or Speedy.

I would recommend your mother to buy a Golf, easy to sell after some times.

Seat Leon is a Golf underneath.. we have 2.0 TDI with 6-speed DSG auto box.. it's amazing BUT BIUT you have to watch out for the 1.9 TDI which is a totally different car and has shockingly cheap and nasty build quality.
