    Tdi s2 replicas

out of interest how many people on here have tdi avants etc done as s2 replica's or modded tdi's?

I know a few members have either started or quite a way thru projects.

I have somthing like, but no rep. prefer it to the s2 most of the time!

In this pic you can see, its a tad low, but it handles like a cart!

9j wheels, avo coilovers, S2 cloth trim, VDO, S2 s/wheel, V6 front (s2 bumper is too low) polished roof rails ect...

Here is my 2.5tdi with S2 front end.. does that count?
It will soon have S2 5-bolt setup as well and looking for Competition rear bumper to match the S2 sedan look.

Barely finished one project and already knee deep in another. Just finished pulling the motor and transmission out of my B4 90 quattro. I was going to enjoy the V6 a bit longer but the water pump failed on it... and since you have to take the front end apart to get to it, might as well just yank...

          And also working on this.

Like my 90q is not rare enough I've decided I needed something more.. First idea was to get a tired S2 and throw in the tdi into it. Then use the ABY to power my SQ project. But, S2s are actually going up in value and it's hard to find a car that has good body for peanuts. So.. I managed to...

I'm midway through doing this, not going to the length of hub conversion just yet. Any helpful tips or parts that I might be interested in please do speak up. I have so far, front and rear bumpers along with skirts, ellipsiods, aux gauges, urs4 interior lined up, Azev A's. in need of coilovers which will likely cost the as much as my car

coilovers will probably be quite expensive unless you know anyone who could make a kit up for on yours?

This is my old tdi s2 rep

And this is the accident that caused me to loose faith in it and get rid of it.

I had the fog lights working, the aux gauges I started plumbing them in same as what jas11n did with sooty.

The previous owner had fitted the front lowering springs to the car and I had the car and drove it around for about 10months before we uprated the front shocks. He'd used just a normal nut/bolt instead of the proper solid shoulder style bolt and basically it wore out and the leg jumped the ball joint whilst I was doing *cough cough* somewhere north of 70 on the a1 near letchworth gate.

I'd also had this happen on my old type85 cq when someone fitted uprated shocks/springs and I was doing 40mph when that went and wrecked down one side of the car and put it out of action for around 8 months.

That is one of the best looking 80 avants I've ever seen. Beautiful, understated, class.

That looks so sweet! The V6 front bumper suits it better than the S2 one would.

They are the same on Coupe and Cabrio (?). V6 saloons/avants has regular b4 80 bumper with foglights and turn indicators.

This thread really is making me think about swapping my mk3 golf tdi for an avant.
