Audi 80 cabrio 2.5 TDI

Gents,

I am planning to swap original 016 5-speed gearbox with 01E 6-speed from a6 c4. In my car now is fitted 2.5 liter AEL engine with gearboix from audi 80 1.6 td . I am intrested, does this gearbox fit. Is there enough space in central tunnel for "schaltstnge"? Sorry, my english is bad so you can correct my when I write something wrong!!!

Yes should fit fine, you will need either customs mounts or the rest of the 6 speed setup from an aby coupe/avant.

I have original mounts from a6 c4, can I use them??

you could try make them fit but I doubt it.

Also your original box's mount would be on one side mounted to the chassis. 6 speed's are mounted onto the subframe so you would have to do what I did when I converted my fwd to 6 speed quattro and cut the box section that holds the mount out and then mount it to the subframe.

You'd need:

6 speed/v6 front subframe
6 speed mounts
6 speed linkage
6 speed driveshafts/tdi driveshafts (I used 2.8v6 on mine as the flanges matched up to my box flanges as my box is a 2.5 v6 a4 quattro box)

I allready have v6 front subframe and round flanges from v6, mounts will be custom! Can I use 6 speed linkage from a6 c4, becuse it is ipossible to get some in Croatia?

I should think you can use the one from an c4,you will probably have to modify the shifter mounting area though

as spink says if you want to mod the shifter mounting area that might work. I am going to be attempting to use a v6 tt s4 shifter on mine as I should be able to just bolt it on in place of the other shifter setup. Another bonus is that short shift kits are around £20 off ebay.
