dont know why, never tried the 1.8T conversion, but i found that this is the best you can get and they are meant to be indestructable. Esp. if you are using aftermarket management, they never miss a beat.(at least in my experience). When it comes to spark, id never go for a cheap option or a used part as it can be devastating for the engine if something goes wrong.

Maybe somebody knows where exactly in Volvo this connector(s) is located ?

Err... The 034 product does not include the coils, the EFI kit does, hence the price difference.

Cheers for confirming the ready made kit is all I need with the purchase of coils.

hahaha, yeh i dont really have a clue on what im doing with this. I have looked at the 034 kit and it seems a tad on the pricey side....

Im fairly sure I could connect a kit if I had one. Im not terrible but I doubt I could make one.

I have printed off all of the write up on how it was made for my brother and a mate who are both mechanics to look at.

Is there any possibility you could post up a link to the EFI kit as I cant find that either?

Is this correct? Then it would be plug in the above loom (rather than making one), and the coils and away I go? (just trying to get an idea here)...
That is exactly what you need to buy (assuming the quality is there)

Trust me, go for a 1.8t pack from EFI, it's pretty simple to connect everything up (fairly if you have a mechanic who knows his stuff). The earth is connected somewhere near the heat shield (thereabouts I believe?) when me and my mechanic had done it together.

(Looks complicated at the mo, fancy making a set and sending it to me??? Lol if only!)
Based on your questions, you don't understand what is involved or how to do it, at least not yet. So at this point, I strongly suggest buying a completed harness from a well known source.

    As for your questions above:

    1. You still need to connect a ground wire to the cam cover and/or intake manifold as per stock. This is shown on the diagram in my DIY write-up.

    2. The existing harness from the ECU to the engine bay arrives with two four pin connectors, one each for the two POSs. As a result, the new harness for the 1.8t (or 2.5 TFSI) coilpacks needs to have two of the Volvo four pin connectors.

Save yourself and us a tonne of grief and buy a read-made harness.

So if I buy two of the kits that byrd has found and a volvo 4 pin connector what else do I need to make this?

The cost of making it yourself only comes close if you buy all wiring, connectors crimps etc from audi, this way its not viable, save yourself all the arseache and buy it direct from EFI.

When i done it on mine, it worked out about £150.00 cheaper. I managed to source a TFSI coil loom from a breakers, which was spliced in/out of and the coils were from GSF car parts £18.00 each IIRC

Go by the guide that Dave URS4 has supplied and you cant go wrong, you will also need the volvo connector to reroute the POS's that costs about £3.00.

Oh yea, You need to be handy with a soldering iron, hence my brother made my kit and not me! from reading this forum, and no reports of complaints it must be still going strong!

I paid alot more for a second hand Loom than what BYRD has found! Thats a really good find, for anyone wanting to do this mod!!!!

Seems like a really good place to start cheers boss.

Dont suppose you have the address and item list you had to order the extra bits from do you? And what the parts were? Could come in useful for people in the future.

it's the cheapest way to get the connectors and wire, then just chop them up and wire in the extra one.
