It´s all about groundwork , have got my valvecover 2k painted and that was 3 years ago, still look glossy and shiny (bluemetallic with several clearcoat layers) and I use my car on daily bases...
Powder coating is the same, have got my supermotard wheels powdercoated with spokes and everything in flat black and they are not flamelike in any way, don´t use any mild degreeasing when I clean it, try to avoid the aluminium parts as they get mat of the detergent
