Ah yes, coupe door seal parts, good call!

There are triangular plastic bits in the seal at the bottom of the A pillar. These snap and don't work properly. Well worth getting a few spares.

What is the function of the triangular pieces rusty? Are they just to give the door seal some "form or shape" or is it something else?

Pretty much to give a little stiffness to the seal (not much as they're quite flimsy) and also to hold the seal to the A pillar and stop water seeping between the seal and bodywork and then causing a leak further down the seal.

Thanks for the explanation, that makes me want to take a look at my drivers door seal as the sill area below the hinges has a rust coloured watermark which probably needs some attention.

That's more than likely the front drain from the door. Might be best to put up a new thread
