Rolling diameter needs to be the same front and rear. By fitting wider tyres at the rear, you would be adding to the S2's handling woes, so it's not worth doing really. 245s would fit on an 8" and 9" rim, if you did want to do that but at about £1500, it's a big gamble. Better off using spacers to sort the stance out IMO.

the cyclic argument that occurs when spending lots of money
What size of tyre? With 225 wide, you could run ET30 but wider tyres might hit the outer arch under heavy load. ET32 should work (based on Error's experience with 245 tyres.
ET35 and 225 tyres are tried and tested to death and will give you cheaper tyres too
this is undoubtedly the safe option.
You could run 5mm or 10mm spacers and see how you get on, with the option of going back to a safe setup for track days or hooliganism.
So... what tyres are you looking at running?Cheers'en, AndyC

Personally I would buy the same fitment all round, but you could use a lower rear offset, it will definitely fit. As standard the rear track is 12mm narrower than the front.
How low do you plan to run the car? Mine is on KW V1s but not a low as many people seem to go.... if it was much lower it would probably scuff the arch liners at the rear and the arches at the front
