Coil conversion - Correct PN?

Hey guys

Over the next few days I will be trying to find time to fit my new set of coils and will be doing this via the coil conversion. I have the loom and have just brought the coils but dont want to trim them until I nkow they are the correct ones so would someone be able to tell me if they are the correct ones?

I have taken the following numbers from them DMB808 and underneath the have the number 1352. They are Lucas ones too if that helps.

Chris: If you don't want to trim the coils (which takes like 10 minutes maybe per coil) *AND* you want longer coil life, then you should have purchased the taller 2.0 TFSI coils. If your coils look like the photo below (from the website you were pointed to), then you will have to trim them. Again, no biggy. They need to be trimmed enough so they fit down onto the spark plug with the rubber sealing ring OFF (trial fitting) so you hear the coil pack "snap" onto the spark plug hex. Note the distance between the top of the coil pack and the top of the cam cover. Trim the hard plastic and the fins on the rubber sealing ring to accomplish the exact same distance between the top of the coil pack and the top of the cam cover.

Thanks for that info. I would like longer coil life hehe seeing as im buying new through a mate I may as well get the best!

Do you know which engine codes use the 2.0 TFSI coils to make it easier for my mate to give me the correct taller coils? And thank you for your help with this.

The taller coils i have are Beru with 0040.102.033 part number. These are TFSI coils...

Dont know about trimming..but...for me with 3B cam cover..i had to remove the rubber complete plus trim 5mm from the plastic... i use'd an o ring to keep the dirt out from the plug holes...

Does anything have to be trimmed away on 2.5 TFSI coils with a 7A cover? I've seen some machining the cover, but also some without machining.

Ok so I have swapped the coils for the 2.0 TFSI coils which are taller and have slightly less rubber on them as per Kens post (Sorry if I got your name wrong Urs4boy) The new coils I have are Lucas ones numbered DMB908. Can anyone confirm these are the correct ones for me please? Would love to fit them tonight if they are correct.
