Okay. I can NOT find the thread with the spring loaded harmonic

damper at the end of the crank. It was part of a recent thread. Not in the usual places. Tried searching on "harmonic", "balancer", "crankshaft", etc. Nada (well not what I was looking for anyway).

Please point the way for the blind.

Very close (and thanks driftin' jo for the link to rusty's thread). It leads to the I5 crank with the spring damper which is what I wanted as a key. However, IIRC, the same thread also had photos of a normal 20VT I5 crank and that is what I was really after. It showed the front end of the crank and specifically the "+" washer that drives the oil pump. I should have nabbed the photo when I saw it. Bugga.

Yes thank you. (But still not the one from a few days ago, showed a photo of the crank from Cyl 1 end to Cyl 5 end, showing the oil pump drive location).

I might have to settle for the photo from the AAN build (in the link)

Sure, please. I am going to have another go at finding the photos that I remember seeing. I think now they might have been in a thread that was linked out of an older thread that was linked out of a recent thread, i.e. two or three layers down the rabbit hole.
