          If they're going sideways, that shows that they're even stronger

            These rods only work on red cars though so bare that in mind when ordering.

                  I've purchased a set of their coilovers before (two sets actually) and they were pretty decent actually. Not sure how their rods would hold up though.

                    id not be too harsh to judge parts.

                    my scats cost me less than that in my s2 and id have out powered most of you. that's not to say you don't get what you pay for most of the time.

                    I remember when I had my G60 I was worried about the 2 quid timing belts. a mate said he would trust his 2k engine on £2 belt. I too did and my highly stressed G60 run just as well as those on high end belts

                    only for a red car. ... maybe for my new car then...

                      I use Chinese ( scat) ones- they hold 700hp and 700nm without any troubles.

                        From reading on motorgeek fasteners and finish maching is the difference between a lot of tha rods that can be produced in the same place.

                        Video of roundness check

                        ShavedQuattro;
                        ARP2000 rod bolts are about 9.50 a piece retail. Add 90$ to that price and you are sitting just 100$ below what a "machined in america" rod would cost. A lot of these rods come from the same raw forging overseas, but the difference is in the machining. The problem with the rod bolts they offer is that they do not have the same consistent clamping force from fastener to fastener. When they bore the big end, they may not have the full 55lbs that arp2000 3/8 bolts require for the proper bearing squish. They end up making a round hole at a random 30-60ft/lb torque spec. This is problematic as when you get proper fasteners in there, or torque their fasteners to the arp standard of 55 lbs, they are NOT round.

                        Usually IE is pretty good about it, but my hunch is that the low volume v8 rod is not final machined by them in the USA. I could be wrong.

                        Reputable rod companies here in the USA are asking for the rods semi finished from China, then doing the important machining here to insure machining quality. Costs about 20-30$ extra per rod to do it this way, but you get lots less hate email

                          Never know what they are.For example i saw a rs2 replica manifold(under 200 eur new) very bad made.Now a client bought one for same price and i was amaised about quality.I will make some photo.So not the big price makes good parts.Proven quality makes good parts.Or if someone wants that seller could ask 400 eur for the rods and many of us will be ok with that

                            after working for tata steel i have seen the smallest of variable in the composition and handling of materials can have drastic consequences. It is almost impossible to gauge the integrity of a product upon its visual characteristics.

                            there was a collapse of quite a large structure and it turned out some of the steel was smelted and extruded in a village in turkey actually in the back garden of someone's house and fake documentation let it slide into the uk market.

                            this is also a major issue upon imports from china mum dad and three kids in a village of twenty houses constructing things for major brands.
