i had 3 cars of this , and they are reliable , 6 cylinders one drives better and smoother than , 1.8 turbo , beside that tiptronic has one issue only which is atf pump bush size to torque converter but this is less comon in country like your with cold climate but here heat and over heating the oil cause this , otherwise valve body and clutch disket can last to loooooong , according to control arms , i used lemforder complete kit and used it for 100k miles and sold the car and they were still like new and here in lebanon normal roads equal your offroads there. one of them had airbag light on do to plugs under both seats but easy to fix. engine last to long that u can buy it here for 400$ usd while the engine of 1.8t bared is 1000$

Ended up buying this. They drive really well and the V6 is effortless and smooth with the Auto box so the perfect cruise wagon. Got it for a good price too after haggling with the guy when I could smell oil burning on the exhaust (cheers jimmyCF for the heads up on the gasket issues ) so hope this will be an easy enough fix. Won't have the time to tackle it myself so will have to get my friendly mechanic to do the job for me . Hope it won't be too expensive..
It runs a tiny bit lumpy on idle and takes a few turns of the engine to fire up but once running and up to temp is quiet and revs nice and freely with no smoke from the exhaust. It has a slight vibration between 65 - 70 so hoping this is just a balancing issue and not the bushes. The tyres need doing too as they're mixed brands front and rear so will prob look for some 17's to replace the dull looking standard five spoke 16's and may even go 18" (i've got enough sets ) but don't want it to become too uncomfortable as it will be used as a daily for the next few months.
No doubt the 'jobs to do' list will grow once we start using her properly but for now i'll just get her running right and will get to work on the aesthetics when the sun starts shining!

I'm not 100% sure where it's leaking from but it appears to be from the rear on the drivers side (UK drivers side). I could do with an exploded diagram to see what's what to be honest.
