Fitted car stereo to mates golf, checked it all working before fitting after fitting not working. Took it out, no more positive feed fuse OK, thinking maybe broken wire or another fuse I don't know about. Any ideas?

A 12v tester is your friend
Check the live in the ISO connector
Assuming everything is ok I would bypass the resister block and see if if powers up then ?
I had this problem recently bench testing an Alpine system. Everywhere was live where it should have been but no power up. Live to the fuse (intact), live after but no live after the resistor
For what this cost me so far I could have bought an S2
