TT anyone know about them ?

So my mate has a 180 Bhp tt

What's best tuning wise ? Bigger turbo, injectors chip etc ?

I heard they are bullet proof, although he wanted to fit a bleed valve.....just no !

I suggested chipping it, I've only been in a couple before and the 225 felt fairly quick, I would say power wise he'd be happy with 250ish to begin with

Anyone actually had any experience of the 1.8t engines ?

Get it remapped first off if you reckon he'd be happy with that. They are a lazy engine when in stock form, remapping does help with pickup/lag and they do go a lot better with just that done.

Yes remap is good but people always jump to power before you upgrade the tip recirc valve panel filter in standard airbox and a full tbe with or with out sports cat depends who's mapping the car I chose Jabbasport as I went down big turbo but r-tec are getting good with 1.8t knowledge

Yes understood peeps but he picked it up for a few hundred nuggets so he got a bit of a bargain.
I remember reading somewhere it was easy to chip it to 225 but found out recently they also used different turbos ?

                  a bargainous money pit, eh?

                  Some 180s have the K03.
What engine code is it, Andy?

                  Ideally he'll need a K04, but it's not exactly just a turbo swap. 180s only have a single intercooler, 225s have 2.
A stock TIP should be ok for those power levels, but it may be easier to get a silicone one.

If it's a 180bhp should be AUQ engine code. These have a KO3s fitted. I had one in a Seat Toledo, fitted a cheap 3" downpipe from ebay and remapped to 224bhp on a dynapack. Very capable car for the money. A 2.5" system freed things up also.

Maybe you know something about this car that I don't. But if it has an AJQ then it should have a K03. It's still a capable engine, but it won't do 250bhp without a turbo swap.

i have a auq and it came with a ko3s turbo which was 180ps custom remapped by jabbasport to 250bhp with surporting mods but yes dp helps a lot as the standard is very restrictive

It's the "supporting mods" that is the issue here, which brings me back to my first point.

Do you 'know' that it's 250bhp? Or is that what you have been told

i know because it was on two different dynos but yes the supporting mods do help but you can go ko4 route and change a lot for little gain and you need all the bits from that donor car £££ or buy ko3s hybrid it which is a vxr ko4 a bit of machining to housing and compressor cover on ko3s depends if you want more power and better reponse.I've skipped straight to bt and i'm very happy with 440bhp
