I hope you are mis-using the word "spline" because if you are using it correctly, you are also going to need a new hub.
Assuming you have an S2 coupe and assuming for you "passenger side" = left side, the PNs are:
895501203C = complete drive shaft, left side for 3B and ABY
895501204C = complete drive shaft, right side for 3B and ABY
Just the CV joint (the bit with the splines) is 893498099PX (should come with boot, etc)
Hub, 5 x 112 = 895501653
Wheel bearing (you have to press hub out of the bearing, might as well replace the wheel bearing *WARNING WARNING WARNING* there is a "C" clip holding the bearing in)
= 8A0498625
Shouldered bolt (if one doesn't come with the axle or CV joint) = 8A0498625
I think you are going to miss your MOT so buy those bus tickets now.
Good luck

Have you any pictures of this c clip holding the bearing in ? just did mine and didnt see a clip or a groove for it??

Not necessarily. Don't forget the driveshaft / axle has splines too on either end
Sounds like the inner race of the outer CV has stripped the shaft splines to me.
I may well have a rear driveshaft Brian, but it will be mixed up with about 6 others so you'd need to let me know the shaft length and the number of splines so I can see if I've got the one you need

Are 20v 7a shafts same thickness as s2 one's with just different cv etc?

Of course the CV joint and the hub both have splines. What I was saying is, if one of them has stripped splines, the other isn't going to look very pretty and should be replaced at the same time.
What I didn't ask the OP was WTF he did to strip the splines? Burnouts?
Would re-greasing extend driveshaft lifespan? I just did the front left cv boot recently because of a split boot.
Installing a new CV boot or CV joint should include adding a packet of grease (usually included with the boot or joint). No new grease = soon to be dead CV joint.

Included everything from new bolt to grease and clamp, lucky my local VW/Audi specialist actually had a kit for me, Audi dealer didn't have one, typical

I respect your opinion but you're wrong

Mistake in the parts system Steve, circlip doesn't exist, on the coupe quattro at least

They are different unfortunately mate I had to change mine to S2 coupe ones to fit the V8 rear diff - the inner CV joint has a different spline fitting.

It was the splines at the connection between cv joint (female) and driveshaft (male).....the splines from the outer cv joint (male) to the female hub splines looked fine.
Not sure which failed first..the cv joint or driveshaft splines, but i guess me using diff lock to get me home may have damaged the splines as the diff lock sometimes disengaged and drive ended up going through damaged shaft .

Correct, no circlip on the rear hub / bearing. Well documented on here...
