Always liked and wanted a 1900 one of these. I know where there's one sat garaged for a number of years but with a running issue. I'm biding my time on making an offer on it -
Inherited?
Still one of my favorite cars the 205 Gti, i'll have another one day. Gti 6 brakes up front?1995 Audi S2 AvantComment

aye I have done the servicing and repairs for the last few years
, he`s a nice bloke just got a shock this morning
when he pulled it out the garage after the winter lay up, and when he saw the paint all split round the strut tops so came straight round to get a price for repair
and then decided just to cut his losses so I made him a fair offer and we did the deal

Awesome, I've had a few of these over the years, in fact my first car was a white Rallye then i had a 1.9GTi, then a 1.6, then a 309GTi, then another 1.9 205, so you can tell i like them
I'd love to own one again, I always wanted a Miami blue one.Panthero Coupé quattro 20vt

Stick a 16 valve engine in these (Mi16, S16 or Gti6) and they really shift. Standard ones are where the money is these days though. Good luck with it.
The front brakes look larger than i remember (its been a while).1995 Audi S2 AvantComment

Ha ha, I remember the 309's, hilarious little cars. A friend had one followed up by a Renault 11 Turbo that caught fire. Those were the days.
I never did own one of these. Had the chance to buy the 1.6 variant from a friend some 10 years ago but he crashed it en route to me. I was gutted! It was rapid off the mark for what it was.Comment

The only car from that era other than the mk1 golf to be worthy of the GTI badge

Looks like a nice example, I once owned a 1.9 GTi and couldn't get over just how fast it was ! Great fun cars that bring a smile to your face everytime you drive them.... well until that lorry didn't stop when I was in queuing traffic
If a good example of one came up I'd probably have another, or maybe a 309 as that would be kind of cool have one as a road car as well as the plastic pig.Comment

I always had a soft spot for the 205. I remember looking at owning one, but I was never sure if I could have lived with the interior styled by Fisher Price. I preferred the 309 TBH.
I had a friend that lost an R11 Turbo to a fire.
Mine caught fire 3 times in the first week I owned it, but luckily I caught them before they took hold. I fixed it by replacing all the crumbling turbo and exhaust manifold heat shields. Strange how it happened to me but not to the previous owners.
I loved that car, but a tractor drove over it while it was parked at home.
You know what these kids are like when they're hedge cutting.
It's funny, because before I always vowed never to own a French car. But there is something about lightweight, FWD madness.SSComment
