bit of fun in my coupe.

tonight i decided to see roughly what time my car would do a standing 0 to 62 time in.
now i know its not an exact science but gave me an indication.
in an industrial estate late at night armed with a stop watch.
i reckon i was at 65mph when i hit the button. 6 seconds dead.
i must admit i am repeatedly impressed with how robust the car is. at 20 years old its quite happy to put up with a 4000 rpm start without moaning at all.

I bought a GPS logger and decided to try and get my chipped ABY under 5 seconds... Poor clutch

i never give her any stick as she cost too much to get it where she is now.
however with the correct kit i reckon i could get it down under 6 but the clutch smelt warm after that one run.
nice to know its in good shape to still do it,

i know what you mean. only yesterday some idiot in his chav corsa was riding my back bumper then overtook screaming the nuts off it. generally i just let them go though.
i did see how quick i could get over set stretch of road the other night when no one was around. 130 as i went on the brakes. Im glad i did the big brake conversion as it stopped pretty quick.
i have toyed with selling the coupe as life is so busy. however I've casually looked for 6 or so years after driving one at the ring. now I've got one i reckon its best to keep hold of her.
anyway i think mines quite rare. it has dry carpets all year round!
