S2 purchase

Hi all I've been to look at an s2 ( auto trader ) garage selling on behalf of owner .. Listed at 3750.00 and to be honest it's a little tatty , made an offer of 3k and it's been accepted , but car has done 173k odd but has a lot of history and the audi specialist garage has been servicing it etc for approx 10 years, I want to try and restore to former glory .. Had one of these 18 years ago but the car didn't look how I remember my old one !! But do you think this is a wise buy at that money .? Windows didn't work on switch also, ....

In the pics looks ok but in the flesh paint is poor , garage guy said the owner isn't a polisher type although mechanically its ok which tbh is what I wanted as I can do the car up ... Inside the car is ok also bearing in mind the cars age I guess

The car is dialynx and theyre proper Audi specialists do all the rep ur race cars and high performance stuff .

£3k sounds about right for an average car. Stop teasing us and get some pictures and spec posted up

Just wonder wether to take it as its right colour etc and do it up or sit tight for a lower mileage car etc ?



Ive owned two s2s in the past , one being the red one just recently sold by Stanirish on here in Ireland , the other was a 1996 ragussa green one.

Mileage is not the be all indicator. My 155k Coupe engine is as new, but my 97k avant, shot its turbo, bottomend, valve seals, ... the list goes on.

Yep agreed .. Not to bothered what the clock says tbh, and car is standard and original no accident damage etc as far as I know. Just few niggles that can be rectified ....

The avant is lovely but I'm after a coupe..

I'm keen to change interior to cream leather etc also if poss.

Hi mate , nice one good to see its gone to an enthusiast !

I bought it from a guy who had taken it from the company director from solihull who I think owned from new, the chap I bought it from didn't register it so I was second owner iirc. It had 78k on it when I had it and I owned from approx 2 years then sold to a guy from Milton Keynes .... Can't really tell you anymore .. Nothing went wrong with it and I never spent a penny on it.. Was a great car and loved it.!! Hope you enjoy it mate.
