    B3 80 2.0 16v quattro details

    Hi all
Just wondered if someone could point me in the direction of a site for details on the 80 Quattro 2.0 16v 1991 b3.
    Thanks in advance.

not found one yet tbh. its a slow exhaustive search. bit like the 16vq...slow.

do you have one? if so that's 2 of us.

my verdict after 4.5k miles is its a far better chassis than the s2 coupe. nice and rigid in comparison. turn-in is better. the car feels lighter.
boot won fit a transformers butty box and flip top flask in its that's small.

whats your thinking. what info you after.

the 16v is an engine I like but its not enough to make good pace in the quattro.

      Hi GAZZAG60
I've been looking for a while but cant comment if its like the 16v...slow!
Just bought one so yes comes next week. I've had a few 90 20v quattro's but always fancied an 80 Quattro so 'living the dream'
I always thought the 90's felt more planted then the S2.
Wont put much in the boot so not a worry there.
Just after details on engine codes, engine improvements is there an equivalent vw unite?
LOL red rooster....were they all red because this one is also!

good old tornado red at b3. maybe mars on b4 not sure.
engine wise its a 6a. runs k jet.

mods you can do lots to 16v. 16vt is good. getting a good manifold is hard though now for the turbo.

stock your at 138hp same as a kr 16v. maybe slightly more torque than the kr but not as revvy.

a kr head flows better than abf,6a,9a kr cams are higher lift. 2 ex cams in a 16v is the turbo way. getting a timing wheel may be impossible with fixed point. I got the last one stealth racing had about 7 years ago when I was doing the 16vt. you can do a bar or so of boost without enginer mods. stacking abf gaskets and using arp bolts. pistons 83mm in a bubble (2l) block is the way. they don't interfere with the oil squirters. 84m makes the walls a bit thin for my liking.

the 9a was in the corrado 16v its the same as a 6a other than the pickup for oil and sump as it sits the other way.

best advice. run it see how it goes first. problem diagnosis on kjet can be a pain. I have a fuel starvation issue im working on. don't drill the airbox as some do. in tact airboxes are rare.

I don't like the gearbox I must say. aby 6 speed I prefer. the b3 is like an upmarket 16v golf. sunroof is mk2 golf etc.

I can waffle crap on 16v all day. cant wait to do the conversion to 20vt now though.

Not sure if I will 'tweak' it or not, first thing is to just have some retro fun.

they are retro fun. compared with the s2 coupe they feel 80's.

that's why I went with one of these. I wanted some feel back in driving.

fuel consumption is good too for 4x4. I get over the hills 30mpg. 40 ish on motorway.

nah, the clio drove into me. clio needed a new headlight, 80 had crumpled boot floor, 1/4 and smashed my genuine hella black 90 rear lights then the silly clio driving moo tried to blame me

Its funny I wonder if anyone has made a mod to 'beef up' the rear of the coupe/80/90.
