I have had Falken FK452's on my car for years. I have never had any problem with them and buy new when they wear down. They seem to work well in summer too. Have heard the FK453's are pretty good too. Maybe the Falkens you guys used weren't as good but they seem to do a great job on my avant

Wish my dad would learn his lesson then, using 8 year old tires on his Bentley Continental GT, refuses to change them . With age comes stubborness

Good quality tyres work out cheaper in the long run IMHO

Looks like Audi decided to change to 18mm bolts and nuts just for shits and giggles, out of all the ring spanners in the garage I don't have an 18mm

The control arm is bent back about 7 inches. When I popped it out though, everything sprung back to what looks like it's normal position and I can't see any other damage apart from the rim scrapes and a sore looking front lip. So hopefully that's all I'll need to buy... And of course it's Sunday when everything is closed

Got it all back together and all looks good. Apart from a very slight pull to the left which will be sorted tomorrow with a wheel alignment, it's back on the road.

$350 is what the stealers wanted foir a new arm, I ended up getting an aftermarket jobbie for $145

Stay away from Forceum tyres, I'm sure they're made up of 95% teflon and made in a fry pan factory.

I had a wheel alignment done and the report showed that the castor is out.

                    Left +2'28
                    Right +7'09

It still has a pull to the left which the guys at the shop say is due to the castor being too far back on the left compared to the right (where it was hit). I had it up on ramps yesterday, loosened 3 sub frame bolts and used a chain block to pull the left side forward, but could only get the frame forward around 1.5mm. I know I would need a another alignment done after this, but I had a drive and there was no difference at all, so I'm guessing it is still out.

I only changed the one control arm, which was the lower rear and I'll buy a new lower front and see it that does it.

I hope it's not a chassis alignment that is out though, sounds expensive to fix if it is

Sounds like mixed reviews on falcon tyres but I used them on my A4 and S2 and thought they were brilliant and last a long time. I have just bought 8 tyres last week for £520 and put Westlake on and I have to say I am very impressed good tyre pattern a bit like a goodyear tyre and the ratings were very good and tyre noise very quiet and have transformed the a4's ride quality

mmm, tyres, with cars like this and especially the 4WD, I wouldn't be cutting corners on cheap tyres (pun intended)

My car got treated to £350 worth of tyres (two fronts) straight away which was a considerable expense considering the cost of the car but when I put it hard into a corner, I expect to come out still on the road, especially in a quattro...

With quattro I have always found the following to be the way to go with corners:

                        slow in, extremely fast out!
