Ducky, you are probably one of the candidates to win if it where a contest. In my opinion you really should go out and drive your RS2 on more regular basis. There is no reason to save it for anyone. No one will thank you for not using the RS2 when it comes the time to sell the car. Use it and keep up with the maintenance. It is probably better for the car in the end.
Your mileage between MOT the last five years is it just maintenance mileage to keep the car semi-operational or has the car been sat without use for a year or more at times?
Just had my RS2 Mot'd and the print out shows its covered 1336 miles in the last 5 years!
Does anyone else hardly use their car, mine has only covered 82K since 1994!
Serviced my S2 last weekend and in 12 and a half months i did exactly 1000 miles
The week before that i serviced my daily (B4 80 2.3) and only did 1724 miles in that in 13 months

So really is it worth owning 2 cars and paying for them?
Almost 150K miles (almost 238K kms) and going strong after 2 engine rebuilds! Haha
I'm on 158k miles now and unless I'm missing something in the service history no engine rebuilds as yet, maybe I've been lucky in the 22k miles I've had her
I do 5k miles a year religiously in line with the limit on the classic insurance policy...if I could drive it more I would
I agree that the original poster needs to get in it and give it some juice, the RS2 from my experience does not like to be left standing.
As above, I am on course to complete the 4k miles permitted by my insurance. Any less and I would question owning the thing.
I make a point of using it every week unless the weather is awful. This invariably leads to sunday blasts of 200 miles+. It does get quite costly but fun aint cheap right? I don't think it has ever been used as pure transport apart from getting it back from where I bought it from.
I have recently sold a classic beetle because of the minimal mileage I was doing in it. In the last 2 years it has coverd 25 miles.... thats to the MOT station and back twice (once a year) and then a 3 mile trip to work and 3 miles back.... at that point it got sold

I actually have 3 cars on the road, all do low miles but I don't drink or smoke and like to have a choice of what I drive lol
Coupe, saloon or estate. Just need a cabriolet to finish the collection.
