    stranded, immobiliser fob stopped working

As per title I am stranded. Sigma immobiliser.

Will swapping battery (if that is the problem) in the fob cause it to lose it's association with the immobiliser?

    Thanks

Back home. Wouldn't you know it worked when the AA man had a go! Got some codes to try on the override keypad for the morning, also going to swap batteries asap!

In almost all cases if you remove the battery you'll loose syncronisation. Do you have a second remote ?

I've swapped loads of batteries in fobs/keys over the years and never had an issue or needed to re-code a fob..

I'm going to get some batteries at lunch today. None of those codes worked this morning but the fob did...

Thanks for your guidance yesterday and thanks to Steve the AA man who took a keen interest in the S2

I've not had big problems in the past either. Be quick about the battery change, in my experience that helps. Do you not have a manual override magnetic thingy (what are they called?) Mine has both, maybe to get you out of the situation you had. I had a previous CQ that had the same and from memory that aftermarket fob had a "moment" when I changed the battery. I would also have been stranded without the manual push in magnetic immoboliser thing.

                Hope it all goes ok.

Switched batteries and checked immobiliser. All is well

Problems again. Turning on the ignition causes the hazards to go off and of course I can't immobilise the damn thing and get home from work!

Decided it was going to start... Got home now and thinking I will remove the whole thing - it seems more trouble than it's worth. Maybe about 10 years ago when the car was more valuable it would have been relevant...

I think I managed to solve that problem by removing a fuse from the fuse box, not sure on the number..might have been 17 or 19, not sure exactly what me or my mechanics had done, but it was something with the fuses
