Why do the government let old people drive???

I have just used the avant for the first time in 2 weeks due to the nice weather and the fact I have had the afternoon off, driven to the local homebase and parked on the otherside of the carpark and gone in. Come out to a lovely fresh scrape all down the rear bumper corner and a cracked rear light!!!

Luckily for me a gent saw it and pointed me in the direction of the dodgy driver, an old boy of atleast 75 who shouldn't have been driving. Hit my car and drove to the other side of the carpark!!! Luckily for him I'm a nice person so just took all of his details and a photo of a lovely green stripe all down the side of his silver car. So now I'm waiting for the insurance company to get in touch to see the next move.

Why don't the government take drivers like him off the road to save us careful drivers all this hassle and extra insurance premiums????? Really, really annoys me!

I know one driver who resides very close to my place of work who is at least over 80-85 years old and still driving

Ask him to pay for repairs instead
Your insurance will Probably go up if they don't write it off!
I was hit by a drive off old biddie, taxi driver saw it happen and left me the reg details

Insurance companies try any way to screw you over - if someone hits your car and you claim off them you are still classed as a liability

Yeh I tried to get him to pay for it but he says he wants to go through the insurance
I was only gonna get him to pay for the rear bumper to be sprayed but seeing as he's going through insurance I'm getting the rear light replaced seeing as be cracked it. I was gonna let him off it but oh well. I'm annoyed about the insurance as I know it's going to affect me that's why I'm so annoyed about it.

Oh and there's no chance they are going to write it off. It doesn't need a new bumper, just paint. Luckily hasn't touched the body at all!

If they even mention it they are going to get told where to go sky insurance shouldn't though as they know what these are.
