    Ultrasonic Cleaner

These are available quite cheap now, has anyone got one or used one?

Are they any good? I thought about buying one for cleaning small parts etc

we have a 25l ultrasonic bath in work and they are good for very light cleaning and to clean out inaccessible spaces like ports in cylinder heads and all but in most cases just takes too long compared to using strong cleaners and elbow grease..

but that could be ours is old and not as good or the chemicals we use aren't strong enough..

I bought one two years ago to clean my injectors (with an AC power supply actuating the injectors), It seems to work quite good. Althought I did not flow check the injector after. But my mileage dropped a bit

It works on other things but nothing exceptionnal. I m not sure if the frequency or the intensity of the soundwaves are high enoug.

Yup, we have one at work.

It works ok, I use it as I can chuck stuff in, go do other work, come back and just give it a quick wash off/blow off.

Even just using it as a heated parts soaker works well.

        It is not however magic.

I can take a few parts into work and do a before and after picture if you want?

Using different degreasers makes a difference, as does temperature. I took the paint/logos off a test part with one combination.

I have the Ultra 7000 one listed, as above very low power and takes forever. It does work for objects with small inaccessible areas, like cleaning jewelry etc. I bought it with the idea of making an injector cleaner out of it using a small circuit to pulse the injector.

But it recently broke so I splashed out on this

Not used it much, but what I have done has come out looking as good as new.
