986 calipers

hi all will these fit under 16" avus alloys or better to go 996 calipers etc.. cheers en .

Boxster S calipers are 996 351 425/426 and fit just fine under ABY Avus wheels, when running the 314mm A8 discs. I have had this setup since 2005. They aren't so good under 3B Avus rims though...

yeh read all the brake threads and will go with 996 etc, just wondered what diff was with boxter 986 ? as some on ebay for a good price.

They're smaller and take a smaller disc. They're the calipers that people use under 15" wheels, so good for drag racing or URs but not really necessary on a roadgoing S2.

At £350 a pair in good order, the 996s aren't a bad option. Cheaper option is the TT upgrade as used by Dest and others.

Make sure you get the 351s too, not the rears, which are 352.
