Bosch Centre in the North West/Manchester Area

Can someone please recommend a Vag.com garage for me to visit and get the car plugged into one of their diagnostic machines please?

With reference to my other thread my engine seems to be running too rich and I want to start here and see if I get any error codes being returned to give me some guidance on where the problem might be.

    Cheers

Buy vagcom or go some where that can plug in for you, I don't think you need to go to a BOSCH place ?

It's amazing what you can learn in 24hrs, particularly when you know very little in the first place!

Had the car plugged into Vag.com this morning and thankfully it produced an error code so now I know (a) I wasn't magining it and (b) we have a starting point to put things right.

Error code is 00561 Mixture Adaption

So the process of finding the exact cause starts here.

Fuel filter changed 20k miles ago so unlikely to be that, oil changed every 5k miles and the last time only 1,000 miles ago so unlikely to be related to that.

As you will see in the links there are various potential causes, we're starting with a couple of tanks of fuel with a fuel cleaning additive to see if that makes a difference then we'll look at dirty injectors, loose hoses, fuel pressure test perhaps.

Hopefully we'll get the od girl running sweet soon, I'll update the thread with progress
