Ha ha very good. Well, I've learned quite a lot today. Cannot believe that in years of driving I have never come across this problem before.

I guess I didn't want to be sat on leather seats today without Air Con. It is boiling!

I once bought am alfa 145 from a mate that needed a bit of work for Mot.
It was on a sorn the week before i got it. Anyway i did couple of jobs and sold it on.
A couple of weeks later i got a fine for 80 quid as i hadnt renewed the sorn.
My argument was that i reg.d the car and was unaware i had to re apply the sorn. If it was the case a covering letter with the v5 would have been nice.
They argued the ignorance was no defence. That really gripped my s#*# as i always stay legal.

You would think they would have better things to do really. It does make you mad though when, as you say, most of us try and keep within the law as much as possible.

Lord knows how many fools there are out there who are getting away with it. Would hope the ANPR vans are getting them but I doubt they are reg'd to correct addresses etc. Vicious circle that probably doesnt help insurance premiums.

These days you would be hard pushed to drive in a town or motorway without setting off anpr cameras.
But the sort of people that do it deliberately don't care. We get annoyed because you try to stay within the law and sometimes it is a pain in the ***
