Speed cams on the opposite side ofc the road

Can they get you if they are located on the opposite side of a dual carriageway?

Or are they only focusing on drivers on the side they've located their snidey van on?

I was on the A556 near Cuddington today and there was a yellow van on the other side, if anyone on here is based around there beware they are doing the rounds.

Not sure but the mobile vans are deffo quite capable. I would hope if he was on the other side, you would be ok but depends on what he was pointing his camera at.

I was driving down down the M40 earlier to Windsor and saw a van on a bridge too late. Looked down and I was doing 88mph. Unfortunately I did not go back to the future but if I got done, so did a whole host of other people.

I have seen some cam vans in funny positions lately. Sad really when you think of some proper crimes going on. I have to look on the bright side as I wasnt in the S2, if I was, I think there is a good chance I would have been going a little faster.

Police are only concentrating on motorists up here- they've been saturating the roads with ordinary patrol cars, traffic cars, camera vans, and 'plainclothes' cars..it's getting quite depressing- never seen it so bad..

I wouldn't mind but you never see any coppers on the motorways doing people for the newly punishable middle lane hogging practice or tail gating *****ers! If they showed some overall consistency I wouldn't mind but clearly they just think a speeding motorist is a dangerous motorist. This is ovvo not the case.

Ditto, i got done by a Van on the opposite side of the dual carriageway on the A449 about 5 years ago.
I tried my best to wriggle out of it! But in the end £60 and 3 points wasn't too bad for doing 97.

Yep it gets my goat too, Easy targets and has little to do with road safety. Friend got done for 90mph a few years ago on M6 by Shap at 2am only him and one other car on Motorway at the time, unfortunately it was a traffic cop only interested in his monthly target
And yet my father in law was indirectly killed by a road rage driver (massive heart attack) 10 years ago and as soon as they found he had a bad heart anyway dropped the case like a hot potato.
Then there is the time I went to pay for some seats at a garage. passed over the money he walks into garage never to be seen again, reported it and Police couldn't have cared a to**
Hope they never ask for my help with anything as they can go swing ....

Haveto watch the blighters round here in N Wales and Nwest as they use mainly plain cars, BMW's, A4's, Octavias, oh and in horse boxes in laybys.....

So I should brace myself for a fine then by the sound of it.

The annoying thing was I was cruising up until that point but with a massive sweeping hill coming up and someone crawling on the inside I dropped it down a gear or two and gave it some juice...typical eh

You have 2 weeks to wait. Im certain im getting done for the m40 the other day. Gits! I also wont help the police unless its serious due to their mostly shocking attitude in my experience. There are good ones but they are the minority

To avoid this happening I recommend downloading an app called camsam. It knows all the camera locations and alerts you as you approach. I've yet to test it with a mobile camera but picks up every fixed one, even when driving in Europe.
