I had all the mechanics and all the sales people hanging around my car there was even a punter looking as well when I went to south Hereford Audi on Saturday and i parked it next to an R8 v10. Only one mechanic and the owners wife has ever seen an S2 made my day as I also had a big discount on the maf I went up there to buy.

Yep, the last time i phoned an audi dealer they thought i had the (non existent) hot version of the A2. took a minute to make the guy understand which vehicle i was phoning about!.

Luckily, my local dealer's parts dept has so far been pretty good. They seem to know what an S2 is, or at least the head guy does!

But for dealers etc that don't, and just give you a blank look when you say 'S2', it can sometimes help if you specifically say 'Audi Coupe S2' (or Audi 80 Avant S2, of course).
Worked for me in the past after the merry-go-round of 'is it a sporty A2'?

I live in Thailand which Audi was not very popular for past 20yrs ago.
I'm not talking about today which the newbies only knows TT model.
I was so funny when everyone thinks that my car is A6 when i said
It's S6.their faces look like what da hell!?and ask me again A6?
Dealer parts guys also didn't know what is the S6 model when he hooked up
The ETKA,i was so surprised when he couldn't find the S-cars model.
I need to guve him a hand to find the parts on his computer!i do believe
less than 2% of people knows what the S-cars is atleast in my country.
They think that it's only old Audi lol.

When I ring my insurer or the AA I just say I have an Audi 80 and when they get the reg up they say "so it's an Audi 80 S2 Turbo?"

Nice when car is noticed.Sometimes too noticed,to many questions.For example Bartolomeus was offered a 98 passat in exchange for his grey s2 and he suposed to give an amount of money too Guy taught it was a nice b4 car.Not so good as his 1.9 tdi but nice enough.
His tires and brake pads value the passat money
Not good to own this kind of car.When you park you have to get sure that dor of the car near you will not hit your car when ******* opens it

It happens to me quite the opposite.
Every year we do a rally to a cause, this year Cancer.

And EVERY year people ask "why" is my car there.

At the end I have always to start the car and leave them open-mouthed

I'm tired of the attention actually. Everytime I drove my car down the street all people are staring at you like you were some kind of crazy criminal, at some point you get tired of that. But the silly coment's from people about my old 80 Quattro are priceless though.
