I work in aircraft maintenance, never seen anyone using these at any place I've worked. They're just bling in my opinion, just don't over torque the aluminium fittings and you'll be fine. Also have stubys and offsets for difficult access.

this was why I was "shopping" for something.....I'm trying to remove the water feed from the water manifold to the turbo at the manifold end...its nigh on impossible with the tools I have...and the other issue is the size of the JIC stuff....not quite imperial and not quite metric....talk about PITAComment

Jic/an stuff is imperial. Its AF sizes though, won't fit with bsp or bsw sizes.this was why I was "shopping" for something.....I'm trying to remove the water feed from the water manifold to the turbo at the manifold end...its nigh on impossible with the tools I have...and the other issue is the size of the JIC stuff....not quite imperial and not quite metric....talk about PITA

suspicions are that its the feed to the turbo.....its proper wet in a couple of areas of the hose.....but now its off it doesn't look that bad but gonna get it checked out as I had another water return that looked OK and that ended up leaking once the coolant was added.....
Kieron,
I thought it was 11/16 AF but judging by the actual measurement of the fitting it would be a gnats too big for the correct 11/16 spanner...its a real odd ball size....unless you know of any decent tool shop that sells the right stuff...Comment

Must be an oddball size then...
If you buy one of those sets all you get is:
-3 1/2"
-4 9/16"
-5 5/8"
-6 11/16"
-8 13/16"
And so on. So none of them will fit your weird size fitting. There isn't a -7 so nothing between 11/16 and 13/16, although if its for an adaptor, union or step down, then it could be 3/4".
Hth.
