the only thing missing is them asking for my bank account details

my mate had same word for word few weeks ago for his focus st,
its a scam stay clear!
he will claim hes offshore and car is for his son for birthday..
its well documented scam if you search it on net..
they collect car then put dispute in to say not received goods to get money back through paypal then end up with car and they're money..
the guy refused to do through bank or cash aswell only paypal

I had the exact text sent to me when I was selling my Ibiza. I sent an email from work just to see what they said in response. I changed my phone number on my gumtree ad to the one from my autotrader ad then gumtree removed my ad for using a business number!!!! So if you use gumtree someone will try to scam you haha

I confirm the receipt of your email and I am glad to know that the car is in good condition.

I have actually tried to get this car earlier but most of the ones I got either had one huge fault or the other while some have even had accidents in the past while the rest were really very exorbitant.

I am actually trying to get this car for my first son who will be adding a year to his age in about 2 weeks. So I think its worth paying whatever the shipping charges will be just to put a laughter on his face.

As to the price, the £10,000 seems to be very reasonable. To seal this transaction in earnest, I will be very glad to make the payment asap through my PayPal account as I am currently offshore and I won't definitely be able to make it to my bank to make bank transfer to you.

As to shipping, you need not worry yourself about how the car will get to me in Ireland as I will contact a shipping company here who will handle that.

Do get back to me asap with your PayPal Email address and Full name so that I can remit the payment asap.

I didn't have the same **** and bull story about his first son adding one year to his age but got a similar response. The bit about being glad to know the good condition of the car sounds familiar
