    Coupe/Saloon rear arch

    Morning all

Apart from the door, are there any major differences between the coupe and saloon rear arches? Diameter/curve/depth etc.
The N/S arch has gone on my ’89 CQ but I cannot find any panels, although it would seem saloon panels are still in supply
Is it safe to assume the general shape is the same?
Mine has gone from about the 10 o’clock position, back to the rear bumper line, so I think with a little work it should be reasonably OK, certainly no worse than the rest of the motor.

    Cheers
    Andy

B3 arch is totally different. B4 saloon rear arch is the most similar. If I'm not mistaken, there is no cheap aftermarket replacement for B4 arch, so there is no much profit in looking at B4-s (in eastern Europe the situation can differ, because there are lots of B4 saloons in scrapeyards).

Instead of gaining new OEM replacement B4 arch I would better try to source new OEM coupe rear fender or a good fender from a donor.

The other ghetto way to repair is on the pictures:

Photos are just FYI. The result totally depends on the experience of a metalworker. (Here is my first experience, and I don't like it).

Interesting, is that a front wing chopped in there?
I have a few of them hanging around

I've just been looking over a few pictures and it appears the B3 wing is quite a bit thinner, less arch as it were

I've found a few local breakers so it looks like I'll be butchering one of them this weekend

It's a front fender from B4. Left front for rear right arch and vice versa. The price of such Chinese wing is about 25 Eur. OEM VAG steel would be much better, of course.
