Standard valve, "J's" are supposed to be faster reacting from memory.

If it's gives more boost then something is wrong or you're outside of the operating range of the ECU boost control

Agree. That ("gives more boost") is the part that caught my eye as well.

Standard 3B, not ABY. Not necessarily the best. I think the "H" ends up to be the best overall.

          034 906 283 J = stock 3B (in 200 20v and S2)
          034 906 283 H = stock AAN (UrS4 and UrS6)
          034 906 283 K = S2 ABY and RS2 ADU

Ahh that old chestnut. I have seen a few of the 1.8t valves (black ones) fail with an open circuit causing ovorboosting and boost cuts. Yet to see an S2/S4 one totally fail. Like everything in life, they dont make em like they used to.

N75 j valve fits most vag cars gives extra boost and smoother power delivery, in good condition.
              Smoother power delivery?
I tried my 3B N75 on my 1.8T and it was almost undrivable, as the boost delivery was savage, until it would go into limp mode.
I also made the mistake of trying in the winter, and I struggled to get traction in the first couple of gears.
