Can't believe that someone would do this, my mates missus went to a charity do in High Wycombe parked the car over night outside a friends house and this happened.

Scary thing is they didn't realise at first and car was filling up with exhaust fumes

it's happened to a few of my engineer's with their Merc Sprinter vans over the past few months, it's quite common around Sheffield at the moment, with a group of youths who are busy at 2 & 3 in the morning , second hand values of Cats and their precious metals must be worth the risk of nicking them.
Replacements come in at £3.5k each!!!

Yep we had the same van(Mercedes Sprinter) done twice in about a month. Problem is with the sprinters is they are all V-band clamp and all you need is a 13mm spanner! So that was about £6k. The worst I've heard about was a firm in Wetherby North Yorkshire, they had 27 done in one night in one yard. The safe guard devices are crap too for them as all they use is a wrap around metal saw and they are through it in 5mins.

exactly the same issue at my work, i work for a large hire firm and one of our internal recalls is fitting securing bolts to the dpf's on sprinters....its a huge problem

where i had my forecourt before there was a commercial mechanic round the back he had 4 sprinters done in 1 nite all caught on cctv they had hoodys on etc it took 5mins 30 seconds from start to finish per van that easy & quick cut the window rubber out pop window out open bonnet undo then get under neath then u see them walking away with the compt system

Dam, I'm glad I live where I do! I'm only 40 miles away from Cardiff and Swansea where there's a fair bit of crime but touch wood stuff like this rarely happens locally.

yup, bad things need to be done to bad people...
but I blame the Greens with their overzealous, emissions laws making life a misery for motorists...they don't try very hard with China or India- building new coalfired power stations every month
