Oil pressure gauge

Anyone know if this is controlled electronically? My brother wants to know for something he is doing to his caddy.

Electric on my 7A engined coupe.

Yup, uses resistance from a sender in the oil system, can't remember if it's on the block under the IM or on the oil filter / thermostat housing.

Under the IM on 7A so likely the same on S2.

Its integrated with a low pressure switch on the cotton reel sender on the block by the dipstick

Just re-read the post. The oil pressure sender is the mushroom shaped sensor under the inlet / water manifold.
