Questions for German People and also the rest of the world

    I have an Audi B2, 2.2 i5 10V , 130 HP
I want to put inside 2.2t AAN
Can you still register the car in Germany with the new engine? Any other modifications need to be done to the car?

What do you guys think, would the car's value decrease or increase in time , making the engine swap?

The thing is that I have a freshly rebuilt AAN engine and it's quite a pity of not putting it inside the B2...

The value will go down, but the fun will go way up.

Can't advise on the legalities end.

in german you have a TUV inspection
they check the car afther rebuild and If everything is approved you get paper with the modifications
but if the engine is powerfull, you must also adapt your brakes and stuff
              tuv check everything,car,engine,brakes,tyres,interior,...... ......
check the net about T.U.V in german

                Hallo,

You will have to have documentation for all parts that you have changed so called ABE (Allgemeine Betriebs Erlaubnis) from manufacturer of all parts that you have changed. Engine hast to pass emmisions test, which means it woul have to function 100% correct including all emmision systems.

As already stated there is a rule of how much braking force is required for specific engine output, which means that you will have to upgrade your brakes.

Worst part of all ist that if you dont have this ABE paper for some parts that you installed to make this engine work in this car, they require test on case basis, which is extremely expensive. For example, I wanted to install 200 Cpi cats on my RS2,but without this ABE and Tüv wanted 1600 Euro for this test.

German cars are good but laws regarding them are terrible
