Seems jack that the route wasn't as good as Evo made out some of it being boring.Just their opinion though.A welshman or someone who's been doing it for decades knows that there are stunning roads in wales.Been on plenty myself.Your pictures looked great considering the fog earlier.I will in a couple of months be doing a serious detour instead of M1 M6 will be going M4 and travel up through south Wales on my way up to North Wales to see what south and mid Wales is like. Can't wait especially if its the S6 i take.

What odds would you get that Kit sees your car parked outside a B&B.

I couldn't quite believe it, funny thing is I said to my brother "I wonder what the odd's are of seeing another S2 today" as we were setting off.

The A470 is a good route North from the M4, goes through some stunning scenery and once north of Merthyr it's a proper drivers road for the rest of it's length. If I'm about when your passing pop in for a cuppa.

That's really annoyed me, I think we were on the beach at about 4pm. If I had seen you driving through Aberdyfi I would have stepped into the street to stop you and interrogate you about your car

The big house was where we were staying for the weekend, about 12 of us stayed there! You probably would have seen my brother's bright blue WRX wagon too - though your attention would most likely been drawn to my handsome green Avant

That road from Bryncrug isn't too far from Aberdyfi, easy to get to as well. I've never been on any of those roads but found it all easy to navigate through.

Soooooo disappointed I missed your S2 Didn't help that a few hours ago I saw a quattro back in Hudds and the driver was oblivious to a fellow 'proper Audi' driver (me )

It was just the straight bit of the triangle that was boring. It would only be good if you had the confidence and the breaks in the traffic to max out your car on that road as it's smooth - but that's insane of course. The bit leading up to Cerrigydrudion was more interesting.

The fog was on the Friday, these pics were taken today. You should definitely take the S6!

Only just seen this after going up to Rugby tonight to pick up 1 new S2 Avus wheel.

To see another S2 that posted on here 2 weeks ago about roads to travel on in Wales is a miracle to be honest but absolute sods law that you guys missed each other.Dam it!!!!

Jack, it's happened to me too. When you see another old audi on the road and your in one of audi's iconic cars the driver coming towards you is oblivious to whats heading his way.Weird that because if your in a old triumph or mg there would be a thumbs up with a huge

Thanks Kit for the offer of a cuppa made with Soft Welsh water.Nice one My wife always loves a cuppa so if your about when were going through would be great to meet.

, "S2forum road side check", I did see if I could spot anybody about and I figured you'd have heard my car if you were outside, if you down this way again give me a shout by all means.

Went driving through Wales again this weekend. Did a loop from Leominster to Newtown via Knighton, south to Crossgates then back to Leominster. Newtown to Crossgates was too open to have any fun, very little steering input required. However this route from Knighton to Newtown was a cracking road. Very little traffic and was able to take this pretty picture

Yesterday on my way back from Leominster to Huddersfield I decided to head towards Oswestry once I got to Shrewsbury and up this road to Bala. Again a cracking road but unfortunately a Rover 75 was ahead of me on the twistiest bit so I stopped to take this pic:

Definitely worth doing again but I was disappointed by Evo Triangle on the second go (clockwise direction this time). Similarly to the road from Newtown to Crossgates it was too open at times to explore it at sensible public road speeds and not worth the trek just for the twistier Moorland section - though if you're in the area that is a good bit of road.

For my next visit to Herefordshire I've got some ideas for another Welsh driving route

I also did a trip in the s2 on Sunday, Birmingham to Snowdon (Nant Gwynant) then to Black rock sands, came back a different route, was physically shattered after that but enjoyed it

Wales is wonderful! My wife comes from mid-Wales and did a lot of rallying there in the late Sixties in her Mini Cooper. I remember the first time I went back there with her (about 14 years ago) she said: "Be careful of the bends, they're not like what you're used to!" I thought oh yea, but she was right. Great fun on great driving roads. I enjoy it every time we go back and we usually have a "discussion" as to who's going to drive! And the countryside is absolutely fantastic – those we've taken who haven't been there before are absolutely in awe as to how beautiful it is. Oh well, plug over!
