Drove on the Leighton A4146 bypass today and was wondering if there were any speed cameras on there? anyone know? the reason I got thinking about this is that I saw some small grey box camera type things attached to one of the overhead lights just off the roundabout near stoke hammond/water eaton/bletchley way and wondered if they were new traffic master things or speed related.
there are speed camera signs over that area, but never seem any cameras until now.
These little things look like they have LEDs in the front, which may be radar detectors, I don't think they are the type that grab you at speed, I think they might be new ANPR, distance/speed versions - scary prospect!
I've been googling to find info, but can't see anything on it, closest I can find is speedspike or safe zone systems, but not sure if any are in effect, they look like they run over a distance, use ANPR and GPS to track and average out speeds
Hi they are cameras but not as you know it they are traffic management camera used to moniter traffic , can also be used as an average speed camera ,because the primary role is to moniter traffic movement signage is not needed
Install the camsam app. That will warn you if there are.
thanks mate, drove round there again, good casing, purely for future, ahem, purposes only, seems like it might have been a traffic camera type thing, but the App works well and it a nice thing to have!
I was in the S4 so I was obviously just pottering along
