Considering the track record from the net, you're may be lucky that the car was as 'good' as it is, and that it arrived.
Collect the relevant parts over the next year and enjoy it when you get to start to work on the car. As they say - time is a good healer, but not necessarily an inexpensive one.
Best wishes.

These two photos amy help to reassure you of what's possible with a 4000 shell.
Once you have an ABY with an RS2 plus spec in the car, with all of the remaining bits up to your preferred standard of presentation / condition you should be able to rest easier and be more 'satisfied', even if it is two years away and a shed load of money.
Great power to weight ratio with quattro and retro looks, and a I5 20vt sound track.

Reasons for getting a 4kq from the states:
- 90q's are hard to find over here and getting more and more expensive
- I like to have a rare car and wanted to explore what is needed to get a car from overseas
- I like the differences compared to the European models, especially the interior and the features like power sunroof, cruise control
- I love type 85 cars but hate rust so there is almost no choice
I will have a look at the links provided by you

Great link! Sent him an e-mail right away and linked him to this thread and another guy that has had problems with Rob. I hope it will cost Rob bigtime

Yeah I know what I can do with it and it will be nice eventually but it's not a good start at all. Mine is the facelift model though >1985.Comment
