    Whats your recomendation?

I need some advice from you guys. I have used gunk cleaner in the past but don't find it very good TBH. I have read on here about POR 15 Marine clean and just found out about this one Clover-Chem Virosol citris based cleaner/degreaser. I need to clean a 1975 cough cough bmw classic 2002 block and sump caked with grime ready for painting.Which is better at getting rid of caked on grime. Cheers guys.

Steam cleaning bath at an engine workshop
I used gunk before and it's fine, even use kitchen cleaners for some stuff, if it cleans up after my mrs the. It's ok on a car(she s a bit dirty, lol!)

Thanks for the reply blue quattro and irish2. The idea of machine shop steam bath would great and but problomatic with transporting, time and paying presumably quite a bit for the service. What would it cost? out of interest for future reference?

Irish2, jizer is a name i havent heard for a long time but sounds like a plan.

Anyone compared the 2 cleaners in the top of this thread?

Not sure of engine shop prices as I've not used one for so long
Maybe you could hire an industrial steam cleaner and do it yourself at home
