Unrelated, but the title made me think of this.

A few years ago I used my Mini as a daily driver. It was a 1275 with a big valve head, pointlessly hot cam and a single straight through silencer, it was really loud for a road car, but I loved it!

I worked nightshift and finished early in the morning, everyday when driving down my road I would keep it in 2nd at about 15mph and then floor it as I passed a Transit Connect, setting the alarm off. I hope they liked being woken up at 6am as I did it everyday for about 2 years, I feel pretty bad about it looking back!

It gets worse though, there was a nice retired couple who lived opposite me, I agreed to look after their house when they went on holiday and while showing me what needed doing they asked about my job, I told them what I did and what hours I worked and their reply was 'Yes, we know when you finish, your car wakes us up every morning!' They were too far away to hear the car alarm as well, I must have been like an unalterable alarm clock for my entire street! I knew it was loud, but I didn't realise it was that bad, rather irresponsible of me in hindsight.
