I bought my RS2 in April and within a week of owning it I had given it a full fluids change, spark plugs etc eyeballed the under side, I then drove 1700 fault free enjoyable KM's to Austria and back no problems. Given that, I decided that when we drove from the French Alps to the UK, 1 year old and all, we took the RS over the C6 3.0 TDI, again, faultless and fantastic. Do it, it'll make your holiday, just pack a bag of spanners, some spare hose and jubilee clips and fluids for top ups.

When i read errors error,
I thought of your hire car company and thought....must be your worst nightmare... customers ragging your motors.
Not very funny really. The race track is for that.
I agree with Lee, it would be great to take your S2 on holiday but only if you can forget the nerves about where it's parked at night etc etc.

It's out of order when people think it's funny to wreck/wrag a car because we all end up paying for it with higher premiums and stupid rules just like checking round every inch of the car for dents when picking up because some pr.ck/pr.cks...meaning the few have ruined it for the vast majority.
So you might be making it here for ADI possibly with the car?.Would be great to see you and your car there. By the way if you want to rag your car thats fine
But please don't leave it in a ditch.

If your confident your car has no reliability issues I would go for it
Me and a pal have just returned from Cologne and if I still had the V6 on the road I would have made the trip also.
Last year it was Bagnois sur ceze by Lyon which was quite a drive but if you take it easy it's very enjoyable.
If you know your route maybe seek out other forum members on route should you get any probs
For what this cost me so far I could have bought an S2

So after you packed all that stuff in the boot, did you have enough room for your mankini too??I've driven mine round europe in a 10 day trip which is on here somewhere via Le Mans, French and Swiss Alps then a few days at the Ring.
It was fantastic, the car behaved well (bar an issue with the immobiliser) and I was so glad I did it...however, you need to be prepared to get under it yourself if something goes wrong and have a collection of parts which will likely keep you mobile. I took jack, axle stands, drop links, p/s hoses, fluids, full tools, sparks, belts, various seals, complete set of bolts for the underside, top mounts etc etc etc etc etc.
If you know the starting point for the trip is a non leaking, reliable and well used S2, then why not - if it isn't, rent and save the money, they drink a ton of fuel, are hot and work hard in high temps too so cooling circuit needs to be in tip top condition too.
Enjoy!

I think that if you go to all that bother to bring all the parts along you can't be too confident in your motor
It's a fantastic drive around the EU side in any car, but better in an old timer Audi for sure.
