A question for you in the know. I have a 5 cyl petrol block which looks identical to the 7a minus the sensor mounts. But it is roughly 2mm taller? Any info would be great. Thanks.

This block measures roughly 222mm from the top to the bottom where the main bearing cap fits, bore is 82.5mm.Comment

I DONT have any info about AAY... not for wv or audi... ??? strange.. etka goes from 1947-2007.... but it may be the wv 2,3 or 2,6 liters verson... ( 92,8 cranck??) for the t3...or?? the deck height and bore will tell more... are the block with oilsquirters ??Comment

You are absolutely right as I have 3 of these engines from the South African made VW T25 Caravelle / Microbus. But this block is different, measures 222mm instead of 220mm and has the 95.5mm crank and not the rarer 92.8mm crank?

do you have the cranc too?? meshure the stroke.... the org are 86,4... but 92,8 are in some rare t3 wv and toy DO HAVE the 2,5l petrol in t4 eurovan ( 110hp) with 95,5 stroke, but they does have 81,00 bore, and are the tall deck engine ( 236mm)... ( may be rebored 2,4 diesel, 79,5)Comment

Another pic to show its a petrol block and not a diesel one although it has the 95.5mm crank making it a 2.6 but has the 2.5 engine code.Attached FilesComment
