    Transferring from iPod to Mac / I tunes ??

    Help,

    I have an old iPod with music and audio books "collected" over many years and is priceless to me, I want to move it to my new MAC and share it with my iPod and iPhone so I can have music on the go !

    I have herd horror stories about loosing the music by syncing with iTunes, I can see expensive software to do it but IS THER A BETTER (CHEAPER) WAY ??

    Not very puter literate so I am in need of some advice

    Appreciate any help
