    Cpc Test

While looking at recovery trucks on eBay (as I do) one advert mentioned the CPC TEST.
I d never heard of it before so looked here http://theorytest.ie/english/driver-...april-2010.pdf

Can't believe how stupid some of the questions seem.
Do we really need to be asked what the healthiest snack is to eat while driving?
    Think I'll stick to 3.5t truck !

Once you eventually get your license after passing the initial cpc, you then have to do 35hrs training every 5 years. There are a few different cpc modules each last 7hrs so you do 5 days and thats you got 35hrs.

The stupid thing is there is no pass or fail. You can turn up, sit at the back of a classroom and sleep all day. Also you can do the same module 5 times to get the 35hrs. Having been through it i can't see the point given the above. It costs £80 a time and you lose a days wages each time. Pretty obvious who benefits and its not lorry drivers.

There are some good jobs though once you jump through the hoops.

It would only be to cover me for the hire or reward when I collect cars to break for myself or take the shells to the scrap metal yard after. I've had a 3.5t truck before but think a tilt n slide 7.5t would be more useful eventually, plus I don't have to pay the lad who collects cars for me.
