    Admiral Insurance Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!

I've just renewed my insurance on the A6 with Admiral. They weren't the cheapest, but for the difference of about £20, it was easier to stay with them than go elsewhere.

Anyway, to the point- 2 weeks after I paid in full for the policy, today I've had a letter from them to say that as I had apparently ticked a box on 'one of our sister companies' websites' to say that my A6 (2010) had Reversing Sensors fitted as a 'Modification', then they were going to take an additional £32.12 from me- Not a request, but a Statement!!

    Red Mist, or what

Do you think I could make their advisor understand that reversing sensors are there to help you avoid hidden obstacles behind, and consequently NOT make a claim to Them for a damaged bumper/tailgate

They then said that if I emailed to say that the sensors were NOT a Mod, but OE, then they would cancel the additional charge! Bl**dy Jobsworths

As Terry Wogan used to say 'Is It Me'???

I want to rant with you, but Arsenal are currently cheering me up.

I will say all insurers I have come across are complete and utter c***s!

You cannot even cancel it or they will charge you a cancellation fee. The murky world of insurance is, well, murky. Gits!

Forget the big companies mate! All pretty much useless when it come to looking after your pocket. We we with Admiral and formally with Footman James and they were way way of with our best quote/quotes.
Been there seen it had the T-shirt. I feel you pain!

Admiral and Elephant charge you extra for going on a speed awareness course. The S2 is with Elephant. They are also fools but at least they are cheap fools.

I Got done going through Reigate in the Tdi going allegedly way way over the speed limit so shocking was my speed i am glad the cameras are there to catch very irresponsible people doing a horrendous 38 in a 30 zone. They haven't provided evidence by way of a picture yet. I have been offered a course and it's boll*cks to that from me! I will just pay the £100 fine yes it's £100 now not £60 it used to be and let the poverty stricken Surrey Police put fuel in their Panda cars to go catch the real criminals.

Whoa, when did the fines go up? I thought it was 60 quid and 3points or 95quid and be preached to by some sanctimonious to**er. I was doing 36 in a 30mph zone. Soooo annoying.

Yeah share your pain am with ADMIRAL for all 3 cars tried to push premiums up through renewals and were cheaper online with moneysupermarket.com and asked if I had points or been on a speed awareness course and they went and added £30 to each car told them I was going to cancel as that's just a sodden pisstake and want a reduction so by the time am done back to square one and a little cheaper so outcome ok but it was hard work

I wonder how much the chap in Brum will get fined for planning to kidnap and murder a copper?

Thing I do not understand about speed cameras is how they always catch you doing 36 in a 30 zone but despite me always seeing those vans on motorway bridges, they never clock me, despite me doing 95mph in front of them before I realise they are there? That exact scenario has happened 3 times the last few months (all on the M40 which used to be a speed freaks paradise but has got a little camera happy recently) but I never get done. Odd but welcome.

My address was selected at random recently by the office of national statistics, so they sent a nice foxy looking lady round to ask me lots of question (an hours worth) about crime in my local area. It basically resulted in me staring at her boobs and ranting about how loads of pricks stuff empty drink cans in my neatly trimmed hedge.

I think the morale of your story Cottis is slow down on the M4 lol!!! They love to clock people going over 30 in a 30 zone and to be fair am all behind that what infuriates me is these damn speed cameras sitting on quite motorways when you are doing no harm sitting at 80-90. I think I have been lucky so far in driving days only been caught once back in 2002 running late for the England Sweden world cup game the A69 towards Hexham was empty and I hoofed it past Corbridge on straight bit if people know the road was 100+alot of vat and slowing down I went past a unmarked motorbike at a 110who pulled me I was lucky as he loved the S2 and didn't blame me for opening her up but advised too keep my speed a lot lower!!! Did get 3 points and a £60 fine which I have treasured!!

I know, I should drive slower but I find it hard to drive at 80 on motorways. I have been coming back from Windsor to Banbury a lot the last few months to deal with my Nan's move into a home and this normally coincides with me wanting to get back in time for the football. You know the score, when you set yourself a target and try to beat it. Good fun but not healthy for the licence when plod is sat on a bridge.

Yep totally agree I think its just human when you set off you go 80 but the further you get into your journey the foot becomes heavier as all you want to do is get home for dinner beer and football!! I was coming down the M74 from Glasgow and really wanted to get home for a reasonable time so sitting at 80 thinking yeah its ok then 90 and a people carrier flew past me I thought WTF!!? He did slow down to 115 so followed him for a while then the both of us braked so damn hard as there was a copper hidden in the side this was at 10 oclock at night now that's what I call ridiculous as we were the only 2-3 cars on the motorway - #frustrating!!!!
