    Fuel Prices!!!!

I never thought I place thread saying how happy I am at paying current fuel prices pmsl!!!! 2 years ago diesel was approx. £1.39 and petrol £1.35 and this week just put fuel in the S2 yesterday costing £1.157 and diesel today in the A4 at £1.197. With the way things are in our everyday normal lives and rising costs everywhere isn't it a nice welcome break that fuel costs are coming down?? The way fuel prices are coming down and if rumours come true unleaded may be close to a £1 a litre by Christmas?? Dare I say it that it makes our performance cars affordable to run!! Just need parts to come down in price!!

    Nice Rumour! Lets hope so!

The price should already be around 75p a litre since the price of a barrel has dropped from a peak of £140 now down to £70 a barrel. Why oh why are they dragging their feet

Alas, Super Unleaded is not coming down at the same rate but every little helps.

Fuel prices are not helping my work though. We are hugely down on sending contractors out to various offshore projects due to the drop in oil prices. The knock on effect on world trade is pretty large.

I was reading somewhere that they might try and get shot of diesels in the next few years due to pollutants. I like my lazy derv, would be shame to see it go.

Imagine getting rid of diesels that would be quite a project! I understand the effects low fuel prices have on trade which isn't good but as a consumer its bloody great whilst it lasts!! Am just enjoying as the government will do there best to blast it back up!

We will all be driving hybrids in a few years and then the government will start taxing oxygen due to falling revenues. I will be forced to give up breathing. Sigh!

Revenues are falling due to cleaner cars coming out all the time I have a 58 plate A4 2L TDI £130 a year to tax and my 53 plate A4 1.9TDI is £260(ish) and looked at a Mini for the missus recently £20 a year!!

An UrS6 over here is approx. €960 per annum to tax. Older cars are based on engine size. Newer cars are cheaper to tax based on emissions.

So I pay more tax and more duty in the greater amounts of petrol I buy due to 15mpg around town.

Petrol was about €1.54 a litre in July 2014, and is now about €1.47 per litre.

The only upside is no depreciation, and I like my S cars, and can fix them.

Agreed - the new shape A3 TDi is both Euro 6-compliant and in the free tax bracket

I was quite surprised when it was £1.22 the other week for 95, it's a very welcome change but i remember there is more VAT-on-VAT and tax this time around with oil as low as it is - so we'll never see 75p/litre again.

Just a shame it couldn't drop in the summer when we could all take more advantage of the price drop

On News 24 The markets are saying just this minute ref chief economist at Goldman Sachs that a litre of unleaded will soon be down to £1.05 and next year the markets RBS are saying oil could drop to as low as $42.00 a barrel. Current price is $66 a barrel.

Time to be cheerful. As Ian dury once said. Reasons to be cheerful part 3.
