Yes very nice but hardly a light nimble toy.. I'm thinking a good s2 is hard to come by so may treat it to a proper windows out respray as there are one or two very small marks that irritate me, they aren't that noticeable but I notice.

Keep the S2 it's stunning as it is, make it into concours condition and take out only on dry days, for about 3000 miles....

If I had the room and permission I'd like one of these...but this one needs a lot of TLC, look under the bonnet...

If space and money weren't an issue I'd have a mk2 escort an interegale, mk1 landy a mgc and a golf rallye. I think I'll treat her to a spruce up

                Yes !

                Do not switch horses now.

Going to another make of car, such as an Integrale, will cost you no end of expense, compared to sticking with your current car. Do the maths.

In order to 'scratch' the itch, wait and go to an Integrale meet and see what the cars, people, and forums are ike, before even thinking of buying.

Get a lift / go in one first. Much cheaper to window shop than actually buy.

Look at a bad one and think of the costs, look at a good one and contemplate the purchase price, and then stick with the S2, and count yourself lucky.

                HTH.

Yup I have even thought of setting fire to my Coupe' in the past. Learn to love the niggles and enjoy the good times. Always think what would you actually replace it with for the same money, not much

I almost bought a 'Grale about 10 years ago before they went mental price wise.
I didn't have a garage at the time and I knew I would be buying into a car that needed to be nursed so I didn't get one in the. Part of me still regrets it, but I saved some money towards buying a house and got a 2.8e quattro coupe instead. The 'Grales are much more fun to drive due to the chassis and better balance but build quality ranges from average to shocking. If had a lot of cash I would 100% have a 'Grale in my stable, but IMHO they are not worth the prices they now command. Back then £8-10k got you a real nice EvoI. That 8v car linked to above would have been around £2.5k tops. Its crazy.
It's understandable to swap it for something sensible but you just can't buy a car with as much character as the S2 for anywhere near the same kind of money.

I'm going to keep hold and get a complete 're spray. Anyway I really don't think my 5 year old boy would forgive if I sold his beloved " fast car"

That's the right thing to do. I have had these same feelings about both my s2 and my s6, but I just know if I sell ether of them I will regret it, once the novelty wears of on what ever I replace them with. The problem with these cars is they are not really known about outside our circle. Which means a lot of people think there just old bangers. Until they find out what they can do, then they want one.

so long as its not a cloud of smoke.

problem is with the s2 when they are tuned the sound gives it away. kinda spoils the fun.

I fully understand the urge to go for something more fun. the coupe imo is a wallowy, sloppy shell. after my corrado I actually thought there was something wrong with the s2. the saloon is a different world to the coupe. feels much more rigid
