    Audi RWD setups

Well I've only gone and bought a manta B coupe for some unknown reason
I've had a few before and find them a good fun car.
I have been tinkering with the idea of fitting an audi engine in it.
Would it be easier fit the inline 5 or the V8?
    What gearbox would suit best.
This wont be a big tuned car, probably use it as it comes out of the audi as I have to keep this on a budget to keep the URQ project on track...

1.8t would be easy enough. Make decent power with a proper turbo fitted and keep it 4cylinder upfront.. I've been contemplating it with my dads manta b hatch that he has abondoned lol

      Probably would be Sam.
I just have it in the head for the inline 5 or V8.
I'm sure that they have been used in kitcars or other non audi applications.
I assume apart from fabricating engine and gearbox mounts, you may need alterations on the sump, plus a fabricated drive shaft.

Why not use a c20 let or z20 Turbo engine vauxhall

I always loved the hard edged growl of the rally Mantas so i would be tempted to fit some form of Opel twin cam into it with twin webbers

Oh I know the twin cam opels sound well. I've had a couple of mantas with C20XE's with twin webers with good results.
But I want to go a completely different route.
I will be choosing a more random colour for the car also as I'm searching for something different this time.

A BMW engine and box from a BMW 540i or 740i that is being parted, just an off the wall suggestion.

                  Or a Lexus LS400 V8.

I guess the BMW engine transplant could be another option that's been used on other rwd setups 😃

Your right john, the red tops are done to death at this stage, and that's my main reason not to go that route again.
I can only find pics of my last build. Had a couple of white coupes before the red one, but seem to have lost the pics :/

Yeah the heaters in a manta are weaker than an asthmatic mouse LOL.
I wanted to keep it light as possible
